Box Tops

The Valentine Box Top contest is underway! Collection sheets were sent home in Tuesday folders. Reminder that the winning class in each grade receives extra recess time! It really helps us count the box tops when you use the collection sheets (25 box tops per sheet) and check the expiration date on the box tops. Don’t forget to include your child’s name and teacher! Thanks in advance for all the box tops!

Congratulations on collecting Box Tops and earning $1,445 for MRES so far this year! Stay tuned for a June contest. The three winning classes will earn a pizza party. Collection sheets will be coming home after Memorial Day.  In the meantime, you can clip and save from products you use. Start a new tradition this year: ask your family and friends to bring Box Tops!

The counting goes much easier for us if you put the appropriate amount on each sheet and check the expiration dates too. Thanks again for helping MRES gain these extra resources for our kids!

Earn EASY Cash For Our School!

Want to earn cash for our school? It’s easy; just cut the box-tops on General Mills products.  Box Tops for Education is a national school earnings program that has been in existence since 1996. Since then, schools across the country have earned over half a billion dollars from Box Tops to assist with educational needs.

DID YOU KNOW? The money earned from Box Tops does not pass through the PTA.  The money earned from turning in Box Tops goes directly to Marshall Road School.  The school uses these funds to help supplement expenses at school.  With Fairfax County Public  School budget cuts over the years, Marshall Road  values this extra source of money to help with supplies and  teaching resources that our kids can directly benefit from.

  • GOAL for 2015-2016 is $1000!!
  • We raised over $1500 in 2014-2015!
  • We raised $700 in 2013-2014
  • Box Top money earned at Marshall Road for 2011-2012 was  $770.00
  • As a comparison: Louise Archer Elementary earned $455.60, Flint Hill Elementary earned $1,453.93 and Vienna Elementary earned $1,870.60 in 2013.  Some schools in Virginia have raised over $4,000.00!!

For every box-top you turn in, Marshall Road will receive 10 cents. However, there are other ways to help. You can shop online at the Box-tops Marketplace. You can also use a Box-Top Visa Card.

Your help is greatly appreciated. Please remember to shop and clip!
