Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW)

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7-11, 2018

and we’re rolling out the red carpet for our teachers.

Here’s to Our Stars!

The Marshall Road PTA and Administration are teaming up to celebrate our wonderful teachers and instructional and counseling staff, the VIPs of our community!  There will be red and gold and star imagery throughout school, uplifting mailbox messages, and fun daily prize raffles to treat the teachers.  Here is what is planned and the ways you can join in the festivities:

Monday, May 7 – Teachers have been encouraged to dress in their formalwear finest, and we’ll be welcoming them to school with a red carpet, walk of fame, and line of paparazzi in the lobby.  In the afternoon, they’ll be visited at their classroom by Principal Heiges and a Craft Services cart serving up fancy cupcakes and celebrity-worthy swag bags.

Tuesday, May 8 – Room Parents are organizing class families to express their appreciation to homeroom teachers through a variety of gestures, while the PTA’s Movie Theater Concession Stand will be open for grab-and-go snacks of popcorn, candy, and soda.

Wednesday, May 9 – Our teachers report early to the “Green Room” for a breakfast provided through the generosity of Marshall Road families.  For full details and to sign-up to contribute, please click here.

Thursday, May 10 – Everyone loves a comfy night at home watching a movie, so teachers and students alike are encouraged to dress in pajamas on this spirit day.  The office staff will be scooping up ice cream sundaes for teachers, while the administration gifts each teacher with a special item to facilitate that at-home movie night.

Friday, May 11 – In a nod to Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the week culminates with a festive teacher lunch of Asian cuisine courtesy of the PTA’s Marshall Road Chinese Theatre.
