Audit
Chair Kara Ebert and her committee conducts an annual audit as directed by the bylaws.
Legislation Committee
The legislation committee follows state and federal legislative initiatives through the Fairfax County Council of PTAs and regularly updates members on legislative actions.The legislative committee chair has one vote where FCCPTA votes on county-wide positions. The MRPTA president also has a vote.
Membership
Chair Coleen Chapman prepares letter for back to school packet, encourages membership, coordinates publicity, distributes and collects membership cards and dues, hosts table at back to school night and Leadership Training is provided by the Fairfax County Council of PTAs. The Chair also distributes the school directory to PTA members.
Newsletter
The newsletter chair Lisa Dauernheim publishes a monthly newsletter called Roadrunner Review. The PTA newsletter is published online at the first of the month and is distributed in Tuesday folders only once per semester. The Newsletter Chair is a member of the Communications Team.
PTA eNews
PTA eNews Team. Gathers information from MR community and compiles a one-page newsletter 4x a month. The newsletter is sent via email to all Marshall Road parents, staff and administration who’ve expressed an interest in receiving electronic news updates. All submissions for eNews should be emailed to enews@marshallroadpta.org by 5pm each Wednesday. All items approved for the Tuesday folders are automatically ready for publication on eNews, newsletter or website!
Website
Design and publish information to the website: send all event information by Wednesday COB to webmaster@marshallroadpta.org. Solicitations not endorsed by the PTA are not included on the PTA website.

The liaison to Thoreau Middle School reports to PTA as needed. Keeps our community in touch with the pyramid and in the loop on education issues.
