Readathon

There are so many rewards for reading: imagining new places, solving a mystery, learning new vocabulary, but now we have another kind of reward!

During the readathon, Marshall Road students will be encouraged to read as many minutes as possible! Roadrunners can read and raise money for our school by getting pledges, or just read and keep track of your minutes..

Readathon runs February 7 – 21.  Reading logs and pledge forms will come home on Tuesday, Feb. 7!

  • read for as many minutes as possible each day
  • ask family and friends to sponsor your reading and raise money for our school by pledging to donate any amount of thier choosing
  • record your minutes each day
  • reading in school counts
  • having someone read to you, counts
  • the student who reads the most minutes earns lunch with Principal Heiges and your na me on the marquee (1 student each from K-2 and from grades 3-6.
  • the class that reads the most minutes earns a popsicle party
  • the class that raises the most money earns a game party

ALL students who turn in a reading log will earn a $5 gift certificate to the Spring Bookfair at Marshall Road.  For every $50 raised by a student, he/she  will earn a chance to enter a drawing to win an Amazon Kindle Fire.  All proceeds will go towards our Marshall Road Art Appreciation and Outreach programs.
