Food for Thought Program

Due to current economic conditions, more and more families in our community are experiencing difficulties making ends meet.

In an attempt to assure that these families in need have adequate supplies of food, Marshall Road, in conjunction with Our Daily Bread, a local, nonprofit agency, is running the Food 4 Thought program.

Through this program, designated children in the Vienna Community will be sent home with packages of easy-to-prepare, nutritious meals each Friday to last throughout the weekend.

We are asking for donations of items in quantities of 10-20 individual packages (ie: 10 breakfast bars, 10 individual packets of oatmeal, etc). Of course, larger donations are always welcome as well as cash donations for assistance in purchasing items. For questions or for a more detailed list of suggested food items, please email: mrfood4thought@gmail.com.

All food can be left in the main office at Marshall Road.

Suggested items to be donated:

  •  Milk (regular flavor milk boxes)
  • Campbell’s Creamy and/or Chicken Noodle Soup cans or the pop open canisters
  • Chef Boyardee meal cans
  • Tuna or Chicken lunch kits
  • Mac N’ Cheese
  • Single serve cereal boxes
  • Small baked beans cans
  • Crackers, cookies or pretzels
  • Popcorn
  • Granola Bars
  • Juice Boxes
  • Tissue Boxes (flu season special)
  • Toothpaste or soaps

If you have leftover toiletry items (miniature soaps, shampoos, lotions) from your stays in hotels, they are welcome as well.
