(Boys Grades 3-6)

Welcome to our 2012 Spring Season of RWTS, a running program for boys Grades 3-6.

The Running with the Stars program involves students throughout Loudoun and Fairfax Counties in Virginia.  Participants train before school two times a week with a coach, typically a parent or teacher, to prepare for a 5K run/jog.  This is a non-competitive activity where we encourage the kids to strive for their own personal best. Our goal is to promote overall health and an interest in exercise.  Ultimately, the kids will have a great time being active with their friends and build confidence along the way.

Spring session: March 5 - May 16.  End of season 5K race will be held on May 20, at the National Conference Center in Landsdowne, Virginia.

Practice will be held twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:45-8:45am. We will meet on the blacktop. We will run/train outdoors, weather permitting.  In case of bad weather, we will practice in the gym.  If FCPS is closed or opens on a delay schedule, we will not meet that day. Minimum enrollment of 8 students required to hold this program.

Course fee: $ 125 ( includes 11 weeks of practice,  two T-shirts, timed 5k event, numbered bib, end of run celebration and a participation medal). Scholarship tuition aid available to those eligible for free/reduced meal program. Please contact school office for more information.
